I painted my 1986 Iroc with paint shop white about a year ago and had to do a touch up on the front once i got a new front spoiler . for the cheap paint job i did the car turned out very nice compaired to what it started out as but i have a few questions about it . First being a laquer paint as with the cars of the 50′s that used laquer does it need to be buffed more than say a base coat clear . and secondly I did mine without useing a clear I wet sanded and buffed out the paint without clear and it was fine for about a year in the garage but it has sat outside for the past 3 months and now shows the dirt real bad and discolored .. would the clear have solved this . I let it keep it’s luster? the car is now apart to get repainted and was wanting to go the hugger orange this time and wondering if the clear helps hold the shine.

Hey Joe,
For your rusted truck-bed, you could sand blast it and paint it… or you could use Rust Fix RF129 and then paint it… hope that helps…
Thank you.
